This entry is dedicated to all the graduates, today, yesterday and tomorrow...'cause you know there's someone out there who's all misty eyed and is doing everthing she/he can do hold it in. But with all the pomp and circumstance, it isn't always easy. Myrtle's "honk" reminds me of a situation I found myself in, while in drama class in high school. The students had prepared a 5 minute piece, and we were all taking our turns presenting them in front of the class to each other. Right before someone started a very serious piece, a girl named Sue sneezed, and made a big honking noise while doing so - a noise that struck my funny bone, and it became one of those situations where I wanted to burst out laughing, but couldn't, although you could hear me snickering and see me turning red and sweating, trying so hard not to. It was awful, and the actor doing the serious presentation was highly insulted, of course, and I had a lot of explaining and apologizing to do. Like laughing in church, which will probably be another entry down the road. Good luck, grads!Saturday, May 24, 2008
