Countdown to end of summer activities August 16 2008

So, here we are again - the final days until school begins. As a kid, I was a bit like Steffie - I would procrastinate until the "end" before doing what I should have been doing all summer long. Actually, I spent a lot of my summers watching TV and drawing cartoons. I guess that's why I work in television, and draw cartoons for the Democrat-Leader! (Insert smiley face here...)

City for Sale August 9 2008

Imagine - a citywide garage sale!! You could come home with almost anything - and then resell it next year, and the next citywide garage sale! Doesn't that fall under the "What Goes Around Comes Around" category?

August 2 2008 and the Great Fayette Freeze Off!

I had a great time at the 11th annual Fayette Freeze Off again this year, which was held on Saturday August 2. I've been one of the Ice Cream Judges for several years now, and cannot think of a better way to judge anything! The crowd was good and always so nice, and the weather behaved itself...didn't get a hot as originally forecasted. So, what more can you ask for, along with ice cream, great music, and friendly folks on the square in Fayette? It was a delicious day.

Too Hot for Hot Air July 30 2008

Ah, yes...I've known people like this in my life. Lawyers, weathermen, and certain guys - who have the abililty to produce lottsa "hot air". Guess there's always the chance that something is gonna melt when folks like this are "speaking".
(This particular comic appeared in the July 30 addition of the Fayette Advertiser, since it was accidentally omitted from the Saturday July 26 edition of the Democrat-Leader.)
