Toons and me

- My interest in reading and producing comics began at a very early age, and I'm not sure why. Back then, the Mickey Mouse and Popeye cartoons really caught my eye, when I was 5 or so. "Peanuts" became my world beginning at the age of 6, and I could draw most of the Charlie Brown gang before the age of 8 - first I traced the Sunday page, and soon I was able to draw them free style. The flicker was lit, and my desire to draw cartoons has never subsided. Also, I had a lot of siblings running around, and one of my favorite places to get away from it all was the comics. I could go into my own little world and visit my "friends" whenever I wanted. Back then, it was mostly "Peanuts", but soon I broadened my comic horizon to "Pogo", "B.C", "Dennis the Menace", and always made sure I read the daily comics - especially the wonderful colorful Sunday editions.

Dear Who's Who of Smile Makers,
When I was a child (and even now too)
I'd sit in my house as quiet as a mouse,
reading cartoons from Dr. Seuss and nowadays-you.
Loved your cartoon for the show "Seussical"
featuring some of your Fayette-cetera
characters for the wonderful musical.
Doesn't really matter if it is Adam, Steffie , Joan, Thom, Myrtle, Ed or Fred, Spatz, Sassy, Grandma Feigenbaum, Grandma Gosselbaum, Elsie or Sage,
'cause I just love 'em all, regardless of their age.
Even in Who-ville anyone can see...
Fayette-cetera characters are the
best...
in the North,South,East, and West.
But I have a confession of confessions I must confess...
To me Baby William and "NJ" tops the top of all the rest.
So my conclusion is-while reading your comics my troubles are gone for awhile-
Because all of your cartoons ALWAYS leave me with a SMILE!
