The final "Fayette-cetera" for the Democrat-Leader.
This comic strip ran each Saturday in the Democrat-Leader, starting in September 2003 until this last addition, in July of 2011.
It's weird - the characters are still alive and active in my mind. Hope I can find a new home for them.
Thanks for reading the comic and for all of your support!

Dear Super-Fantastic, Smile Maker, Cartoonist Extraordinaire,
I cannot understand why the editor of the Democrat-Leader dropped your comic strip, Fayette-Cetera, from the newspaper. Does he not understand what a "jewel" he had in your comic strip?
For eight years, you have provided us smiles, laughs, and tugs at our heart with the antics of your characters. We have come to know and love each one of those lovable "one of a kind" characters.
It was exciting to also see the new characters you would add from time to time. Of course you know my favorites are Baby William and NJ, but I also love the "older" characters like Ed, Myrtle, Elsie, and Sage. There is so much difference in their marriages for sure. You also treated us to new characters, such as the recent...Magic Man! What fun that one probably had in store for us, for we all could use a Magic Man in our lives :)
It is not only heartbreaking that the editor ended your strip, but improper in the way it was ended. It is sad enough to have it disappear, but to not even let you create a final strip for the characters and yourself to say "goodbye" seems cruel, heartless, and a bad example of business ethics.
Since the characters didn't get to say goodbye to us, I will say so long to my weekly buddies that I have loved for almost eight years now. Ed, Myrtle, Elsie, Sage, Fred, Grandma Gosselbaum,Grandma Feigenbaum, Baby William, NJ, Joan and Tom, Steffie and Adam, Spatz and Sassy, Mr.Jerry, Mike Crayfone, Trevor, Magic Man, Heart Clouds, and anyone I may have missed along the way. I don't want to say goodbye, so I will say until we meet again. Who knows, they may just all pick up and leave Fayette and live in other comic strips!
In closing, I want to thank you, James Mouser, for bringing back pure enjoyment and professionalism. I was beginning to think the great talents of cartoonists like Charles Schulz,Walt Disney, Bil Keane, Hank Ketcham,Chic Young,Ernie Bushmiller, and Mort Walker were gone until you came along. I see there is hope for comic strips to be what they once were-"funnies." They make us laugh and take our minds off our problems for awhile. They were something to look forward to when opening the paper. Your cartooning led a renaissance.
Although the Democrat Leader is now minus its shining star, I have a feeling your cartoon strip will brightly shine far and wide in syndication.
Thank you for treating us to eight years of pure enjoyment.
A Lifelong Fan of Yours,
Naneki
Dear "Uncle" James,
Sorry to see your cartoon go. It was an excellent artistic contribution and educated the community about its daily life. I know you will do fine in your cartooning future. Keep up the great work and to quote President Reagan,"don't let the turkeys get you down."
All the best and respectfully,
Henry
